• How are teams assigned?

The number of teams will depend on the number of players, qualified coaches and level of interest within each age group. If you have a group of players, in a particular age group that want to play, let us know.

• How do players register ?

All current and non-current players MUST pre-register online, before attending tryouts.

• How will players be evaluated at tryout?

Coaches will divide the players and run them through drills and game play in order to best evaluate the players. Players will receive a tryout number and be evaluated based on their basketball skills, competitiveness, athleticism, knowledge of the game, and overall attitude.

It is recommended players attend ALL tryout dates offered.

• How many players will be on each team?

Each team will target at 10-12 players, but no more than 12 in order to maximize playing time experience. The final number will depend on the tryout evaluations and turnout.

• When will tryout results posted?

Players will receive an email indicating whether he or she made one of our teams. Some grade levels may take longer to form and results posted later than others based on the number of players and teams. However it is our goal to announce teams within 7 days of the final tryout date.

• Will all players be selected for a team?

We would love to be able to accommodate all players wanting to play with Future Stars Sports but unfortunately we can not. Players who do not make a team will have the opportunity train throughout the season during Open Gyms, Clinics and Workout sessions. We encourage all players to keep playing, improve your skills and tryout for the next season!

• How many tournaments and games each season?

Each season teams will play in between 8-12 Games/ 4-6 Tournaments. This will be determined by the team’s talent and commitment level).

• What are the expectation of a Future Stars player?

Players are expected to attend all practices, training's, tournaments and league play. In addition, Future Stars Sports will hold special events within the community that we encourage all players to participate.

• When and where are practices held?

• Tryout Fee?

There is a $10 fee, which covers both tryouts dates for the season.

Teams will practice 1-2 times per week at a local MCPS in Clarksburg /Boyds, MD area. This will be at the discretion of your individual coach.

• Player fees per season?

All player dues are set by Future Stars Sport Organization. Players who make a team will be required to pay part of their dues on or before the first practice. This will cover the initial tournament fees, uniforms, and training.

General season cost range between $150 - $300.

Teams who travel to out of town for tournaments will be responsible for their own travel, room and board. We will work with our team travel planner to offer group rates and have fundraisers throughout the season to offset cost.
